Thanksgiving is a day to reflect and be thankful for friends, family, and loved ones in your life. It’s also a day to FEAST!
Kick-off the holiday season the right way and indulge in all of your favorite foods! Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pie and other sweets…no matter what you have on the menu it’s important to think of your teeth!
Be sure to drink as much water as possible. Not only will this help digestion, staying hydrated will help your saliva wash away food and prevent buildup.
For your teeth, it’s not so much about the rich foods but the exposure time. Try to limit snacking all day and save your appetite for the main meal.
ALWAYS use a nutcracker! Never try to crack or open a nut with your teeth as this can easily result in a chipped or cracked tooth.
Brush and floss! The day after Thanksgiving is National Flossing Day, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Schedule your cleaning. If it’s been a while since your last cleaning, there’s no better time to schedule than after holiday. Christmas is right around the corner – start off the new year with your most healthy smile.
From the whole team here at BRAIDC, we hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!
