Show Your Teeth Some Love This Valentine’s Day!

Feb 14th, 2020

For this Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d revisit a blog we posted last year. A refresher never hurts when it comes to your dental health! Again, we hope you have a wonderful day!

February 14th is Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air this month – you’ve surely seen cards, flowers, and candies in your travels. Whether you have plans or you’re staying in, don’t forget about your teeth! Here are a few ways that you can show your teeth some love on the 14th:

Give them a Special Treat

Why not spice things up for your teeth? Add to your routine – try a new floss or switch to a better toothpaste. Have you ever considered whitening?  Give us a call to go over our Sinsational Smile or Opalescence whitening systems! Perhaps you’re due for a cleaning, or you’ve been putting off scheduling some dental work you need to have done. Whatever you may need, there’s no better time than the present to show your teeth some love!

Enjoy Valentine’s Day Treats With Caution

Sweets are delicious – there’s no denying that! We encourage you to enjoy them, but be sure to brush your teeth after you’re finished. These tasty treats are loaded with sugar and can cause decay if not properly cleaned.

Avoid Hard Candy and Gummies

If you have had any dental work done in the past, it’s best to avoid any candy that could cause your teeth harm. Hard candies or treats with nuts can chip or crack teeth, bridges, or implants. Gummy candy and sticky caramel can also stick to pits and fissures in teeth and cause decay.

This applies to braces as well! Candy can easily get lodged in your brackets. When it builds up and it becomes difficult to remove, cavities are more likely. Choose treats like chocolate cake and ice cream. These foods melt easily and are much easier to clean off of the teeth!

Schedule Your Appointment With Us!

The best way to show your teeth some love this Valentine’s Day is by celebrating with a clean bill of dental health! The team at BRAIDC wants your smile to be happy and healthy year-round, not just on Valentine’s day. If you need to schedule an appointment or a cleaning, give us a call! We can’t wait to meet you.
